Mission
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that uses simple math, writing and reading aloud exercises as an intervention to improve cognitive function in those with Alzheimer's Disease. We encourage intergenerational collaboration between university students and elders.
Methods
Pioneered by Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, volunteers combat Alzheimer's and Dementia using two simple brain exercises to activate the prefrontal cortex: reading aloud and arithmetic. By doing these brain exercises for 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week, he saw marked improvements in cognitive function for those with Alzheimer's.
